Gillespie Named South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken cross country runner Keely Gillespie was named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 23, 2011.

Gillespie (Belvedere, S.C./North Augusta) was the top Pacer finisher in the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Women’s Cross Country Championship held at the Pacer Path. Gillespie concluded her efforts in 14^th place with a time of 24:37.28.

Gillespie's time is the third-best 6K time in program history. She now owns three of USC Aiken's top five 6K times. 

Gillespie's 14th place finish allowed the 2010 Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year to obtain All-Conference accolades for the second consecutive season.
