Byers and Lukralle Tabbed to PBC Preseason All-Conference Team

AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standouts Shannon Byers and Samantha Lukralle were selected to the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Preseason Volleyball All-Conference Team on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011.

The 2011 Peach Belt Conference Preseason All-Conference Team was released from the conference office.

Byers (Morristown, Minn./Faribault) returns for her junior season after being named First-Team All-Conference last year. The outside hitter led the team and was seventh in the league with 339 kills. She was second on the team behind Lukralle with 325 digs. Byers recorded 13 double-doubles last year.

Byers was a Second-Team All-Conference selection as a freshman in 2009.

Lukralle (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) was named the 2010 Peach Belt Conference Libero/Defensive Specialist of the Year after finishing fourth in the Peach Belt Conference with 4.99 digs per set. 

Her 634 digs last season set a single-season school record. It is the eighth-highest single-season total in Peach Belt Conference history. 

Returning for her junior season, Lukralle was also named All-Region by Daktronics and placed on the 2010 Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament Team.
