Lukralle Tabbed South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball player Samantha Lukralle was selected as the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Nov. 15, 2010.

Lukralle (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) concluded her sophomore season with the Pacer volleyball program owning two new school records leading to her garnering three postseason conference accolades.

Early last week, Lukralle was one of three Pacers named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team. A nursing major, she currently boasts a 3.90 grade point average in the classroom.

At the annual PBC Volleyball Tournament Banquet held Friday night, Lukralle was named the PBC Libero of the Year by the league coaches for her efforts on the court during the regular season. She ended the 2010 regular season campaign having seen action in all 120 sets and 29 matches for USC Aiken while corralling in a team and league-high 603 digs.

USC Aiken's Days Inn Downtown Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of October, Lukralle ended the season in the top-10 in three all-time PBC categories as well as in the top-10 in four conference season categories including leading the league in most digs (634), tied for 4th in total service aces (45), 10th in aces per set (.35) and was 4th in the PBC in digs per set (4.99).

Lukralle currently sits 10th all-time in the PBC for most digs in a match after she recorded a career-high 40 digs in USC Aiken’s 3-2 victory over Augusta State on Sept. 29. She also finds herself third in PBC history for most service aces in a single match as she recorded a school record 10 aces during the Pacers’ 3-0 victory over Coker College on Oct. 23.

Lukralle picked up her third postseason award at the conclusion of the 2010 PBC Volleyball Tournament as she was selected to the all-tournament team. She ended USC Aiken’s tournament stretch corralling in a team-high 31 digs in their two matches, bringing her season total up to an impressive 634 total digs in the 2010 campaign

Her 2010 campaign placed her in sole possession of eighth all-time in PBC history for most digs in a season while her performance also broke the USC Aiken school record for most digs in a single season that she set last season as a freshman.
