Cedeno Chosen USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week
AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball player Lauren Cedeno was selected as the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, October 5.
Cedeno (Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop Kenny) led the Pacers last week with 57 assists, 33 digs and nine kills.
In USC Aiken's match with Wingate last Tuesday, Cedeno finished with 10 assists and nine digs.
Cedeno had a double-double in each of USC Aiken's last two matches of the week, acquiring 10 digs and 35 assists in the Pacers' match with rival Augusta State last Thursday at the Convocation Center. Cedeno also collected six kills in the match with the Jaguars.
In USC Aiken's dominating 3-0 sweep of Peach Belt Conference rival Lander last Friday, Cedeno finished her efforts with 12 assists and 14 digs.
In total, Cedeno averaged 5.70 assists and 3.30 digs per set in 10 sets played last week for the Pacers.
The USC Aiken Student Athlete of the Week award is a newly created award. Each week the USC Aiken athletic department is going to honor one individual from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
