USC Aiken Unable to Upend Bobcats

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - USC Aiken was unable to upset 29th-ranked Georgia College & State on Sunday afternoon at the Centennial Center Facility with the Bobcats earning a 6-3 victory over the Pacers.

GCSU was able to acquire a victory in the first two doubles flights before the Pacer duo of Brittany Telford (Newmarket, Canada) and Melanie Schnieder (Gensingen, Germany) were able to obtain the Pacers' first point of the day with an 8-3 victory over the Bobcats' No. 3 doubles duo of Adriana Acuna and Linda Mosa.

USC Aiken would surrender the first three singles matches before Maria Angel (Rosario, Argentina) garnered USC Aiken's first singles points of the day at No. 4 singles with a 7-5, 6-3 win over GCSU's Michelle Lingner.

Schnieder acquired USC Aiken's final point of the afternoon at No. 6 singles with a 6-4, 5-7, 10-3 victory over Acuna at No. 6 singles.

USC Aiken is now 2-5 on the 2010 season. The Pacers are 0-3 in the PBC.

USC Aiken will next take on Mount Olive on Tuesday, March 2. The Pacers and Trojans will play the non-conference match at a neutral site in Sumter, S.C.
