AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken women's soccer player Alex Cohen was chosen as the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 25, 2010.
Cohen finished USC Aiken's three games last week with seven total points on three goals and an assist.
The Evans, Ga. native acquired all three of her goals in USC Aiken's 4-1 victory over Anderson on Monday, Oct. 18 at the "Pacer Pit." All three of Cohen's goals came in the final 12 minutes of the match.
The score 1-1, the Greenbrier High School product scored the first of her three tallies on the evening at the 78:39 mark on a rocket shot off her left boot from 20 yards out.
Cohen scored 10 minutes later to make the score 3-1 in favor of the Pacers. Cohen obtained the opportunity when a Brittany Moores (Blythewood, S.C./Blythewood) shot ricocheted off the post into her waiting foot. Cohen then calmly placed the ball into the back of the net.
Cohen collected her first career hat trick with a goal at the 88:27 mark. She was assisted once again by Moores.
Cohen obtained her assist in the Pacer victory over Newberry just two days later when she assisted Katie Rumble (Aiken, S.C./South Aiken) for the second goal of the USC Aiken 2-0 win over the Wolves.
