Seniors Honored at Pacers Last Home Match
AIKEN, SC – The University of South Carolina Aiken honored its two senior women’s soccer players before the game against UNC Pembroke and falling 2-0 in the Pacer Pit on November 1. The Pacers drop to 3-12-2 overall and 1-5-1 in Peach Belt action while the Braves improve to 16-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in PBC play.
Senior defender Annie Whitley and freshman forward Jessica Marshall both recorded shots during the game for the Pacers.
Just seven minutes into the game the Braves’ Karmi Dagnachew received a pass from Melanie Cobb that went passed the Pacers goalie sophomore Nicole Westphal for UNCP’s first goal of the game.
Later in the period the Braves sealed the win when Cobb took a shot and put the ball into the back of the net in the 35th minute of the game.
The Pacers where out shot 12-2 and also had seven more fouls than the Braves.
The Cardinal and Navy’s next game will be in the PBC Tournament on Tuesday November 4 where they will take on these same UNC Pembroke Braves at Pembroke, NC with a 7:00 p.m. start-time. The game will have live stats and web cast for those who can’t make it.
