USC Aiken Figures Prominently in Inaugural Basketball National Statistical Report

INDIANAPOLIS – The inaugural NCAA Division II men's and women's basketball statistical reports came out on Monday and the USC Aiken men's and women's basketball teams figured prominently in the national statistics.

The eighth-ranked USC Aiken men's basketball team currently has the sixth-best field goal percentage as a team in the country at 52.6 percent. The field goal percentage is also good for tops in the Peach Belt Conference.

The category is one of two in which the Pacers are in the top 10 in the nation as the Pacer men are currently fourth in the country in blocked shots per game at 6.4 blocked shots per game. The Pacers are also leading the PBC in the department.

The USC Aiken women currently have the top scoring defense in the PBC, holding its foes to 51.6 points per game. The paltry 51.6 points per contest leaves the Pacers with the 11th best scoring defense in Division II currently.

Individually on the men's side, USC Aiken's Myles Holley (Norfolk, Va./Nebraska) is presently 10th in the country and second in the PBC in blocked shots per game at 2.9 per outing. Kenny Manigault (Summerville, S.C./Wichita State) is 17th in the nation and first in the PBC in steals per game with 2.9 plucked per contest.

USC Aiken guard Sterling Council (Camden, S.C./Camden) has the nation's third-best assist/turnover ratio at 4.5.

Pacer women's floor general Triahna Harris (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) is currently third in the PBC in assist/turnover ratio at 2.5. The ratio is 20th in Division II.
