DeGraffinreed Chosen to West Florida Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament Team

PENSACOLA, Fla. – University of South Carolina Aiken women’s basketball player Hannah DeGraffinreed was chosen to the 2010 West Florida Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament team.

The tournament featured host West Florida, Henderson State, Goldey-Beacom and USC Aiken.

The Pacers finished the tournament with a 1-1 record. USC Aiken opened the event with a 12-point 76-64 win over Goldey-Beacom on Friday, Nov. 26. USC Aiken suffered a narrow five-point 62-57 loss to Henderson State in its tournament finale on Saturday, Nov. 27.

The award is the second of the 2010-11 season for DeGraffinreed, who was also chosen as the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Nov. 21.

In USC Aiken’s two games in the West Florida Thanksgiving Classic, DeGraffinreed averaged 10.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

In the Pacer win over Goldey-Beacom, DeGraffinreed finished the Pacer win with 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

A native of Raleigh, N.C., DeGraffinreed concluded the loss to Henderson State with a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She also had three assists, two steals and one block.

DeGraffinreed shot 47.1 percent (8-for-17) from the field in the West Florida Thanksgiving Classic.

DeGraffinreed and the rest of the USC Aiken women’s basketball team will commence the upcoming week with its first home game of the 2010-11 on Monday, Nov. 29 against South Atlantic Conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will feature a special Lady Pacer Meet & Greet event that will allow fans to meet the 2010-11 USC Aiken women’s basketball team immediately following the conclusion of the game.
