Pacers Drop Exhibition to College of Charleston
CHARLESTON, S.C. - Despite a double-double from Hannah DeGraffinreed in her first career action in a Pacer uniform, the USC Aiken women's basketball team fell 66-44 to College of Charleston in a exhibition game at Carolina First Arena on Saturday evening.
DeGraffinreed concluded her evening with 19 points and 10 rebounds. She was 11-for-14 from the charity stripe in the contest. She was 4-for-7 from the field.
Pacer guard Nakia Pinkney finished as the only other Pacer in double figures in the game, ending the contest with 13 points.
Diedra Jones was the catalyst for the Cougars in their win, capturing a double-double of her own with 16 points and 12 rebounds. She collected five offensive rebounds.
The only other Cougar in double digits was Brooke Kotcella, who ended the night with 11 total points.
USC Aiken shot just 22.9 percent (11-for-48) in the contest. Picked to finish third in the SoCon in the 2009-10 season, College of Charleston concluded the contest shooting 41.4 percent (24-for-58).
USC Aiken's 2009-10 regular season commences on Wednesday, Nov. 18 with a trip to Anderson, S.C. to take on defending Conference Carolinas champion and 2009 NCAA Division II Tournament team Anderson College. The Pacers bested the Trojans, 64-46, last year at the Convocation Center.
