Pacers Bow Out of PBC Tournament in Quarterfinals
MORROW, Ga. – The 26th-ranked and eighth-seeded USC Aiken men’s tennis team saw its three-match winning streak snapped in a 5-0 Peach Belt Conference Men’s Championship quarterfinal loss to top-seeded and national No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic State at Laker Courts on the campus of Clayton State University.
The loss drops the Pacers to 11-1 1 on the year. USC Aiken will now have to wait and see if they will receive an at-large bid to the 2010 NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championship. The First and Second rounds will be contested on May 6-8 at sites yet to be determined.
Armstrong Atlantic State with the victory improves to 25-1 overall. The Pirates will now face fourth-seeded Francis Marion in the PBC Tournament semifinals at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 17.
