Pacers Unable to Knock Off Jaguars

AIKEN, S.C. – The USC Aiken men’s and women’s tennis teams both played rival Augusta State tight, but neither the Pacer men or women were able to knock the Jaguars off in their respective Peach Belt Conference matches on Tuesday afternoon at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex.

The 17th-ranked USC Aiken men fell 5-4 to No. 23 Augusta State, while the Pacer women succumbed to the No. 29 Augusta State women, 8-1.

The loss dropped the Pacer men to 7-6 on the 2010 season. USC Aiken is now 1-4 in the Peach Belt Conference. With its narrow victory, Augusta State improved to 7-4 and 1-4 in the PBC.

The Pacer women fell to 6-7 and 2-5 in the PBC with the loss to the Jaguars, while Augusta State improved to 9-5 and 4-3 in the PBC with the victory over the Pacers.

The USC Aiken men and women return to action at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex on Wednesday, March 24. The first matches are slated to begin at 2:30 p.m.
