Bolender Selected South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week
AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer player Robert Bolender was chosen as the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 11, 2010.
Bolender finished last week with nine saves overall between the pipes for USC Aiken in an 0-1-1 week.
Bolender led USC Aiken to its first positive result of the 2010 Peach Belt Conference campaign last week against UNC Pembroke by not only saving four shots in the Pacers' 1-1 tie with the Braves, but also scoring USC Aiken's lone tally in the match.
The Kennesaw, Ga. native secured the Pacer goal in the 80th-minute on a penalty kick.
A transfer from Reinhardt, Bolender also held the No. 2 team in the nation in Montevallo to just two goals last Saturday. Bolender made five saves in the loss to the Falcons.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student Athlete of the Week award honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
