USC Aiken Drops League Road Match to UNCP

PEMBROKE, N.C. - The USC Aiken men's soccer team fell 7-1 to UNC Pembroke on Wednesday evening at the Varsity Grounds.

UNC Pembroke netted the first seven goals of the match before USC Aiken's Troy Watson (Kingston, Jamaica/Montreat) scored in the 79th-minute on a double assist from Zachary Davis (Ocala, Fla./Vanguard) and Brett Van Pelt (Aiken, S.C./South Aiken).

Rondell Honora guided the Brave attack in the win over USC Aiken with two goals. The other five goals by the Braves were single tallies. Andy Pullin had a goal and an assist for the Braves.

UNC Pembroke took a grand total of 23 shots in the match with USC Aiken taking 12. UNCP held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.

USC Aiken falls to 4-6-1 on the 2009 campaign with the loss. The Pacers are now 1-2 in PBC action. UNC Pembroke is now 6-5-1 (2-2-0 PBC) after its win.

The Pacers will next take on new league foe Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala. on Saturday, Oct. 10.
