Pacers Lose First PBC Match of the Year

AIKEN, S.C. - The USC Aiken men's soccer team dropped its first Peach Belt Conference match of the year to Flagler on Saturday afternoon at the "Pacer Pit" by the score of 3-0.

The loss to the Saints left the Pacers with a record of 4-4-1 on the year entering their next match against Erskine at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5. USC Aiken is 1-1 in PBC action.

Flagler improved to 6-3-1 on the season with its victory over the Pacers. The Saints are a perfect 4-0 in PBC action.

Flagler first arrived on the scoreboard in the fifth minute when Will Frandsen hit a blast from 30 yards out from the left corner that went into the upper right corner of the Pacer net past USC Aiken goalkeeper Devin Lemaire (Evans, Ga./Greenbrier).

The Saints tacked on one more before halftime in the 33rd-minute on a Joseph Toby rocket into the right of the Pacer net. He was assisted by Danny Burke.

The final tally of the match came at the 58:51 mark when Burke scored one of his own on a give-and-go with Pol Berenguer.

Flagler finished the match with three more shots than USC Aiken at 16-13. The Pacers held a commanding 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
