Letien Chosen to Peach Belt Conference Men’s Golf All-Conference Team
POOLER, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken freshman golfer Hayden Letien was chosen to the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference second team on Sunday evening at a banquet on the eve of the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Golf Championship at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.
A native of Sumter, S.C., Letien is leading the 17th-ranked Pacers in the 2010-11 season with a 73.9 scoring average. He has a team-best three top 10 finishes this season.
Letien's best finish of the year came at West Florida's Argonaut Invitational. He concluded the event in a tie for third. He was also sixth at the Lander Bearcat Classic and eighth at Francis Marion's Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate.
Georgia College's Billy Shida was named the PBC Player of the Year with Lander's Max Fischer earning Freshman of the Year honors. GC's Jimmy Wilson was named the Coach of the Year.
The 16 golfers on the all-conference teams were placed on first and second teams.
The 2011 Peach Belt Conference Golf Championship will be contested on Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12 at the Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga.
