Diaz Nets Second Professional Victory

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Former University of South Carolina Aiken golf standout Roberto Diaz acquired his second professional victory at the NGA Hooters Professional Golf Tour Winter Series Myrtle Beach National-West Course event.

Diaz concluded the tournament at the par 72, 6,866-yard Myrtle Beach National-West Course with a 13-under-par 203. Diaz opened the event with a 67 in the first round before posting a 69 in the second round. He closed with a 67 to end the three rounds tied with two others for first place at 203.

Diaz birdied the first playoff hole to obtain the victory.

The event, which was the first of the 2010-11 NGA Hooters Professional Golf Tour Winter Series, was contested from Nov. 9-11.

Diaz collected $3,800 for the victory.

Earlier this year, Diaz finished first at the NGA Hooters Professional Golf Tour Carolina Summer Series Tidewater Golf Club event. Diaz commandeered the victory in just his fourth professional tournament. Diaz garnered $3,850 for his victory at the Tidewater Golf Club.

A four-time All-America selection, Diaz (2005-09) concluded his time at USC Aiken as the all-time scoring leader in school history with a 72.97 scoring average in 130 rounds.
