Pacers Finish Third at Argonaut Invitational

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The 25^th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken golf team finished in third place as a team at the Argonaut Invitational at the 6,815-yard, par 72 Pensacola Country Club.

The tournament was hosted by West Florida.

The Pacers carded a team tournament low round of 292 in the third and final round to finish at 880. USC Aiken had opened the tournament by posting a 294 in both the first and second rounds of play.

USC Aiken had four players conclude the Argonaut Invitational in the top 25 with freshman Hayden Letien (Sumter, S.C./Sumter) leading the way with a third place finish. Letien (68-74-73) tied with two others for third place at 215.

Letien has now posted back-to-back top 10 performances.

Matt Atkins (Owensboro, Ky. /Henderson State) was able to secure his first top 10 finish of the year in the event by finishing tied for 10^th with three others at 219. Atkins opened with a 75 in the first round before posting a 71 in round two. He finished with a 73 on Tuesday.

Mark Dickson (Edinburgh, Scotland/Firrhill) ended his efforts at the Argonaut Invitational by tying for 19^th at 224 (78-74-72).

The final Pacer in the top 25 was Kyle Godsman (Moray, Scotland/Lossiemouth). He tied for 25^th with five others at 225 (75-75-75).

North Alabama's Jace Windom garnered individual medalist honors at the Argonaut Invitational with a 213 (75-70-68).

Nationally fifth-ranked West Florida claimed the team laurels at its home event with a three-round score of 874 (286-298-290).

The Pacers will next play host to the 14th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Palmetto Golf Club on Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8.
