Pacers Ranked 23rd in Latest National Poll

KANSAS CITY – The University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball team is ranked 23rd in the latest NABC/Division II men’s basketball poll. 

USC Aiken is the only Peach Belt Conference team ranked in the 11th NABC/Division II poll of the 2011-12 regular season.

The Pacers were ranked for the first time this season on Jan. 17 at No. 19. USC Aiken was ranked 24th for two straight weeks before moving up to 20th on Feb. 7, 2012.

USC Aiken has been in the top-25 for at least one week in four of the last five seasons.

The Pacers commence the upcoming week still leading the Peach Belt Conference. 

USC Aiken at 11-3 currently owns the best record in the Peach Belt Conference. USC Aiken’s 11-3 mark in league action gives them a two-game lead in the PBC East Division presently. 

Last week after falling to Lander on Wednesday, Feb. 8, USC Aiken (17-5, 11-3 PBC) avenged one of its three league losses on the year with a thrilling 81-78 come-from-behind victory over UNC Pembroke on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Convocation Center.

USC Aiken opens this week with an important Peach Belt Conference East Division game with current division No. 2 Augusta State (14-9, 10-5 PBC). Tip-off between the two rivals is set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15 in Augusta, Ga.

The Pacers will then close the week at home against Lander at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18. 

The game will be a part of USC Aiken’s Homecoming celebration.
