Carmon Named South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken baseball player Stephen Carmon was named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Feb. 6, 2012.

Carmon concluded USC Aiken’s three-game sweep of Lincoln Memorial with a .500 batting average (6-for-12). 

The preseason All-American owned a slugging percentage of .667 and an on-base percentage of .538.

The senior from Camden, S.C. claimed a team-best six runs scored in the first three games of the season for the Pacers. Carmon collected four RBIs over the course of the three games.

Carmon secured three-hit games in USC Aiken’s first two games of the Lincoln Memorial series. He was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored in USC Aiken’s win over Lincoln Memorial on Friday, Feb. 3.

In the Pacers’ second game win over Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, Feb. 4, Carmon ended his efforts on the day with three hits to go along with three runs scored and one RBI.

In the field over the course of the past weekend, Carmon had 10 assists, eight putouts and no errors from his shortstop position.
