Inclement Weather Forces Pacers to Open 2011 Season on Saturday
AIKEN, S.C. - Due to inclement weather in the CSRA, USC Aiken's
scheduled 4 p.m. season opener with Lincoln Memorial on Friday has
been postponed until Saturday, Feb. 5.
The Pacers and Railsplitters will now play a doubleheader on
Saturday at Roberto Hernandez Stadium. First pitch in game one is
scheduled for 1 p.m. at the 'Bert. The second game will get
underway shortly after the conclusion of the first game. Both games
will be nine-inning games.
The three-game series will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 6 with USC
Aiken and Lincoln Memorial playing a single game at 1 p.m.
The USC Aiken baseball program has won 30 or more games in each of
the last 10 seasons, while also having played in five of the last
six NCAA Division II Tournaments. The Pacers finished the 2010
season with a 32-19 overall record.
USC Aiken will commence the 2011 regular season with a preseason
top 20 ranking at No. 20. USC Aiken will open its season with 18
consecutive home games.
