Miller Tabbed South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week

AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken baseball player Josh Miller was named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on April 11, 2011.

A sophomore out of Chapin, S.C., Miller hit .706 (12-for-17) for the Pacers last week. He had a slugging percentage of .765 and an on-base percentage of .737.

The Pacer catcher finished his week with five RBIs and four runs scored. He obtained multiple hits in all four of USC Aiken’s games last week.

Miller commenced USC Aiken’s impressive 3-1 week last week by going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs in USC Aiken’s dominating 14-4 win over Young Harris at Roberto Hernandez Stadium on Tuesday, April 5.

In the 2-1 Peach Belt Conference series win over Augusta State in Augusta, Ga., Miller was 8-for-13 in total.

After opening the series by going 2-for-3 with a run scored in a game one loss to the Jaguars on Saturday, April 9, Miller went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and a run scored in USC Aiken’s 8-4 game two win over Augusta State.

Miller was 2-for-5 in USC Aiken’s series-clinching 4-0 shutout victory over Augusta State on Sunday, April 10.

In the field on the week, the Pacer backstop had 29 putouts and five assists.
