Dobbins Tabbed USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week
AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken senior baseball player Cory Dobbins was chosen as the final USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2009-10 athletic year on May 10, 2010.
A senior out of Swansea, S.C., Dobbins was selected to the 2010 Peach Belt Conference Baseball Championship All-Tournament team yesterday (Sunday).
Dobbins dealt 11 innings on the hill for the Pacers in the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Tournament. Dobbins struck out 10 batters in the two games in which he went 1-1. In his final two games as a Pacer pitcher, Dobbins held his opposition to a .220 batting average.
Dobbins concludes his final season as a Pacer with a 1-1 record in 12 appearances. Dobbins fanned 20 batters in 25.2 innings on the hill in the 2010 season.
The USC Aiken Student Athlete of the Week award was a newly created award for the 2009-10 athletic year. Each week the USC Aiken athletic department honored one individual from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
