The nationally 14th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team concluded last week with a 3-2 record.

USC Aiken (31-16, 18-12 PBC) began last week with home victories over CSRA foes Paine and Augusta State. The Pacers bested Paine, 8-6, on Tuesday, April 17. One day later, USC Aiken downed rival Augusta State, 7-1, in the second game of the 2012 Outback Cup.

After national No. 8 Francis Marion obtained the first two games in the series, the Pacers closed out their 2012 Peach Belt Conference regular season by acquiring a 8-1 win over the Patriots in the series finale on Saturday, April 21.

USC Aiken is assured of a spot in the 2012 Peach Belt Conference Baseball Tournament, which will be contested May 9-13 at Golden Park in Columbus, Ga. Seeding for the 2012 Peach Belt Conference Baseball Tournament will be announced after the conclusion of the Peach Belt Conference regular season on Monday, April 30.

USC Aiken will next welcome 10th-ranked Catawba to Roberto Hernandez Stadium for a two-game non-conference series.

The two-game series will begin with a 7 p.m. game on Friday, April 27.

The two nationally-ranked foes will then close the two-game set with a 2 p.m. game on Saturday, April 28.
