Recent Weather Forces Slight Change to Eighth Annual Pacers and Polo Event

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken athletic department announced on Tuesday that due to recent inclement weather that some things have been altered for the upcoming Eighth Annual Pacers and Polo event on Saturday, April 2.

The direction of the layout of the event at the Powder House Polo Field on Powder House Road has changed as unlike in the past this year’s field layout will be north-south.

The new north-south field layout will place the VIP tent closer to Powder House road. The VIP parking area will still be right beside the VIP tent when you come into the complex.

All general admission parking will now be around the edges of the complex. There will be golf carts available to help shuttle from the parking area to the general admission seats.

“The Third Leg of the Aiken Triple Crown” will still feature an opening ceremony, 6 seven-minute chukkers, a 20-minute intermission and an awards ceremony at the end of the match.

Tickets for the Eighth Annual Pacers and Polo Event are $10 for adults and $5 for children the day of the event.

Advance tickets can be purchased for $8 (adults) and $5 (children) from Floyd & Green, USC Aiken Athletic Department, AllStar Rents, Vista Banks or H. Odell Weeks Activity Center.

Parking is $5 and includes up to four souvenir programs per car.

Gates open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2 with the Eighth Annual Pacers and Polo event scheduled to commence at 1 p.m.
