Record-Setting Fall in the Classroom for USC Aiken Student-Athletes
AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken athletic department continued its strong showing in the classroom during the fall of 2011 with Pacer student-athletes earning a grade point average of 2.982.
Also, 99 (53 percent) of USC Aiken’s student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.00 or higher, and were named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
USC Aiken had eight student-athletes, Scott Berry (Men’s Soccer), Drew McElveen (Golf), Samantha Lukralle (Volleyball), Thomas McLeod (Baseball), Ryan Milewski (Baseball), Patrick Stiebinger (Men’s Tennis), Andrew Ward (Golf), and Tripp Warrick (Baseball) earn a perfect 4.00 for the semester.
The average GPA of 2.982 represents USC Aiken’s highest average GPA for a fall semester. During the fall 2011 semester four of USC Aiken’s teams had an average GPA above a 3.000.
Additionally, 20 current or former student-athletes were degree candidates during USC Aiken's December 2011 commencement exercises.
