Broome Selected Assistant Sports Information Director
AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Promotions Brian Hand announced the hiring of Travis Broome as Assistant Sports Information Director on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011.
“I am thrilled that Travis is continuing to work with us,” mused Hand. “Travis has been an invaluable asset to the USC Aiken athletic department for the last two years, and I know his strengths and experiences will allow us to continue to grow as a sports information department over the coming year.”
Broome has been a student assistant for the athletic department for the past two years. He has also been a part of the video webcasts seen on www.pacersports.com and the bi-weekly review show, "Inside Pacer Athletics."
Broome has been an active part of numerous groups on campus. He was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Student Government Association, a Pacesetter, a video blogger and President of his fraternity.
Broome is a native of Jackson, S.C. When not in the office he is in his senior year at USC Aiken working on a Communication degree with a Business minor. He is the most recent recipient of the Chris Whitlaw Memorial Scholarship, which is a scholarship for journalism students.
